Site Navigation and Personalisation
Site Location
The first thing you need to know about a Smartabase site is where it is located. A self hosted site can be located at any URL whereas cloud hosted Smartabase sites are located on one of Fusion Sport’s servers. A cloud hosted Smartabase site will typically have a URL that follows this format: https://SERVERNAME.smartabase.com/SITENAME
User accounts
Everyone who uses Smartabase has an account, whether they’re an athlete, student, patient, soldier or staff member. Account information usually consists of your identifying information and contact information. You can usually see a link to your account in the corner of the Smartabase web application or as a home page option when you’re using the […]
Logging in
You need to log in when you use Smartabase in your web browser or from one of the Smartabase mobile applications. None of your data or anyone else’s data is accessible until you log in. Your Smartabase administrator is responsible for making sure that you’ve got the right information to log into Smartabase – your […]
Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled for your Smartabase site or for your role, you’re required to authenticate certain actions (such as logging in or updating your account) by providing a code. You can choose which method you want to use to complete this step: You can receive an SMS with a six-digit code. You […]
Registration
A Smartabase site can be set up so that new users can create their own accounts using a registration process. This removes the need for a site administrator to do so. On registration, the user adds their account details (first name, last name, username, password, email and date of birth) and fills out their contact […]
Team Administrator Accounts
If you’re a team administrator (sometimes called a coach or group administrator), you have access to Smartabase’s administration tools. This means you’re able to help manage the people you’re responsible for. As a team administrator, you have visibility of and access to people in groups specified by your Smartabase administrator. You’re able to add new […]
Your inbox
When you use the Smartabase web application, you can usually find a link to your inbox in the menu bar at the top of the page. If you don’t see it there, you may be able to access it elsewhere, depending on your page layout. Your inbox is where you will receive: Messages sent using internal […]
Groups
Grouping is a defining feature of Smartabase and allows for users to be classed together for data entry, viewing data, reporting and planning purposes. Users can be grouped, for example, by sporting discipline, class, year, age, gender, or team. The names, members and properties of the groups that are used on a Smartabase site are […]
Personal Groups
As a professional user, you are likely to have access to groups of users which are structured and populated by a site administrator (or a group administrator). If you are not an administrator, you do not have any ability to create groups, because this grouping applies across the entire site and to all users and […]
