The Tables and Matrices series contains the following articles.

The series on Tables and Matrices aims to explain why a form might use a table or a matrix, introduce you to building tables, matrices and their contents and explain the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Tables and matrices are built using any of the standard or custom question types. Calculations of any sort can be included within a table or matrix with the exception of the table calculation types: table calculation, table text calculation, table option calculation, table date calculation and table duration calculation, which are used outside of a table or matrix to return results about the table or matrix.

This series will focus more on building tables than matrices, as matrices have challenges in terms of formatting and usability as well as being significantly more difficult for data analysis.
