Many of these updates to Smartabase focus on new abilities for sharing and accessing information including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Shareable links that take you straight to where you need to go<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Better previewing features for attachments<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">A new tool to help you maintain data continuity when an athlete moves to a different sport or club within an organisation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">New dashboard builder functionality<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Be sure to contact your lead builder if you have any questions, or would like to learn more about any items included in this post.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"null\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">New Features and Functions<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">URL Generator for Sharing Links<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3955\" src=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/URL-Generator.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/URL-Generator.png 768w, https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/URL-Generator-300x151.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">When building a form, you can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/url-generator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">URL generator field<\/a> type. This field creates a URL for the user to copy and share outside Smartabase. The URL generator field can be set up to create links to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The record the URL was generated within (as in the example above)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The profile page for the athlete<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The home page for the athlete (with both sidebars open)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Normal privacy rules still apply to information accessed via a shared link. Anyone using the link will need an account with access to the athlete as well as the relevant system and data permissions.<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/url-generator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Learn more about this new field type here<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Performance Alert Links<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5008\" src=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Alert-link.png\" alt=\"An example screenshot showing the use of the performance alert link functionality\" width=\"591\" height=\"393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Alert-link.png 591w, https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Alert-link-300x199.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Building on the functionality we developed for the URL generator, it&#8217;s now possible for you to include a link when <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/performance-alerts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">setting up a performance alert<\/a>.\u00a0This means that the recipient of an email alert can\u00a0easily\u00a0access the record which triggered the alert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">When you create or edit a performance alert, select the option to include a link to the entry.\u00a0Links can only\u00a0be added\u00a0to email alerts, so remember to set the communication preferences for your alert\u00a0appropriately.\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/performance-alerts\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Read more about performance alerts here<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">New Navigation Customisability<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Using the\u00a0<strong>Save and Redirect<\/strong>\u00a0property for a form, builders can now customise the\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0button to direct the user to a\u00a0dashboard once they finish entering a form. The\u00a0<strong>Save and Redirect\u00a0<\/strong>property can be configured to send athletes and coaches different dashboards if required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This means when an athlete or coach completes a form, they can go straight to a specific dashboard.\u00a0For example, a training and wellness dashboard can display after an athlete saves monitoring data.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This feature is only available when you&#8217;re accessing Smartabase via your web browser, for now. Expect another update from us when we extend this functionality to your iOS or Android application!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Image and PDF Previewing<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5010\" src=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Previewing.gif\" alt=\"A gif showing the use of Smartabase's previewing functionality for images and PDF files\" width=\"600\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">You can preview an image or PDF that&#8217;s been added to a record using the document upload field. It&#8217;s now no longer necessary to download a copy and view it from your phone, tablet or computer. Instead, you can check images and PDFs within Smartabase. This functionality extends to the athlete history, reports and resources modules, where you can use the same previewing option.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This update makes accessing relevant information more straightforward. This is especially useful if you often need to check medical imagery and scanned documents. Being able to preview within Smartabase also reduces the risk of inappropriate information storage or disclosure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Previewing functionality does not, at this point, include text files (.doc, .txt etc) or spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xls etc).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Note that images uploaded into a record using the image upload field can already be previewed. This field type also allows you to set a size for thumbnail images.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Athlete Duplication<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This release contains a new tool for Smartabase administrators. The athlete duplicator creates a copy of an athlete account, including all data recorded about that athlete up to the date of duplication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We developed this feature to support our clients who have changing requirements for access to athlete data. For example, when an athlete transfers from one club to another. The original account\u00a0is used by\u00a0the new club going forward, and the duplicate account is kept by the first club. This means no disruptions\u00a0are caused\u00a0for the athlete. They can continue to use the same login, forms and features.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">New data can&#8217;t\u00a0be added\u00a0for the duplicate, nor can the athlete log in as the duplicate account. But the data up until duplication remains available to the original club. This allows the original club to maintain reporting continuity. When the original club no longer requires the duplicated data, it can remove the duplicate account with no impact on the athlete&#8217;s usual account.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Dashboard Builder Progress<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">You will have noticed new functionality within the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/dashboard-builder-overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dashboard builder<\/a> becoming available throughout November. First up, the addition of\u00a0<strong>customisable gridlines and regions<\/strong>. These properties are available for the two charting widgets &#8211; categorical charts and time-series charts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In mid-November, you got another dashboard builder upgrade with <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/setting-up-your-rulesets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">conditional formatting<\/a> for the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/tile-widget\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tile<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/table-widget\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">table<\/a> widgets. The conditional formatting feature means you can create rulesets that apply icons and custom colours for tiles and table columns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In early December, we added the option for you to include athlete pictures in the table widget.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The dashboard builder has also received some new settings that give you more control over the appearance of chart widgets. These include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Axis padding<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Ability to toggle\u00a0series markers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Adjustable series marker sizes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Ability to toggle chart series in legends<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Adjustable series line widths<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Ability to specify\u00a0opacity within area series<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The combination of setting marker sizes and area opacity means that it&#8217;ll soon be possible for you to add dynamic upper and lower thresholds for chart data.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Other dashboard builder updates improve your ability to customise the table widget:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Set your preferred default sorting behaviour<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Toggle persistent sorting when data changes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Set column width and text alignment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Other updates you may notice:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The table widget detects newline (&#8220;\\n&#8221;) characters and replaces them with a\u00a0line break<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The pagination controls for table widgets are hidden when the number of rows is less than or equal to the pagination threshold<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The pagination controls for table widgets\u00a0show an ellipsis for hidden pages<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">When building a new table widget, the preview now includes a placeholder when there are no columns or data<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The ability to toggle whether sections are open or collapsed by default<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Tabs and version numbering are now hidden when a dashboard is exported as a PDF or printed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Coming soon!<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The ability to add your own logos to dashboard canvases<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Adjustable opacity for scatter points<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Performance improvements when adding new widgets<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1 class=\"null\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Bug Fixes and Minor Updates<\/span><\/h1>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve fixed a bug that caused errors in the display of\u00a0<strong>critical information<\/strong>. This was occurring when records\u00a0were entered\u00a0in the same 15-minute interval. Learn about\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/critical-information\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">critical information<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u00a0from our learning portal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Sorting<\/strong>\u00a0in reports, tables, inForm reports and\u00a0exported data was not occurring as expected. We&#8217;ve done a lot of work to ensure that data now sorts in a predictable manner depending on the data type, scoring and whether a best-worst data direction has been set.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Text and table text calculations<\/strong> didn&#8217;t work as filters within the reports module. We&#8217;ve updatedSmartabase to include this functionality. Read more about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/reports-module\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">using the reports module here<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">A bug that caused imported records to appear as\u00a0incorrectly dated duplicate records in the calendar has been resolved. You can<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/calendar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">learn more about theSmartabase calendar here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Group entries<\/strong>\u00a0were not working as expected when entering data for two users with the same name.\u00a0This has\u00a0been fixed\u00a0and it&#8217;s now possible to use group entry mode for, say, John Smith and John Smith without saving two records for the first John Smith. You can learn more about\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/group-data-entry\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">group data entry here<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">A second issue with\u00a0<strong>group entry mode<\/strong>\u00a0that caused fields to revert to the default answers upon reopening and saving a group entry has also\u00a0been resolved.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The\u00a0<strong>appointment and schedule viewer<\/strong>\u00a0(view current appointments and view current schedules) has\u00a0been upgraded. You can now scroll back and forth to view appointments across a two-week window. Read more about\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/appointments\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">appointments<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u00a0here.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We have modified the level of access required to\u00a0<strong>archive terms documents<\/strong>.\u00a0Group administrators could do this in the past, but only site administrators can perform this action now. Learn more about\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/group-administrators\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">group administrators<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/terms-documents\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">terms documents<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\u00a0from our help documentation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Linked calculations<\/strong>\u00a0were returning imprecise data for some international clients. This has\u00a0been fixed. You can read more about\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/linked-calculations\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">linked calculations<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333;\">here.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve updated the default settings for\u00a0<strong>date formats<\/strong>, as this was causing readability problems for many users. Date fields that don&#8217;t have a format specified will use the site date format instead of dd MM yyyy format. You can learn more about\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/smartabase-field-properties\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">setting properties for date fields here<\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">You can now set<strong>\u00a0performance alerts<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0be triggered by\u00a0scheduled events and appointments when their state changes from\u00a0<em>On<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0<em>Rescheduled<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>Cancelled<\/em>.
