{"id":5455,"date":"2019-08-19T10:00:08","date_gmt":"2019-08-19T00:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/?p=5455"},"modified":"2020-07-30T00:48:26","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T14:48:26","slug":"smartabase-6-1-13-release-notes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/default\/2019\/08\/19\/smartabase-6-1-13-release-notes\/","title":{"rendered":"Smartabase | 6.1.13 release notes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Version 6.1.13 (and upwards) of Smartabase contains fixes and improvements for recently added functionality:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/embedded-events\/\">Embedded events<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/embedded-reports\/\">reports<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/multi-file-upload\/\">Multi-file upload fields<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The Smartabase Athlete app<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We also strengthened how Smartabase handles locked records in certain situations and added improvements specific to <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/smartabase-mobile-application\/\">Smartabase&#8217;s mobile app<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Save and continue support for embedded events and reports<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This update affects you when you create a new record, or open and edit an existing record, via an <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/embedded-events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">embedded event<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/embedded-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">embedded report<\/a>. Previously, when you used the <strong>save and continue<\/strong> method of saving these records, Smartabase would save your changes and return you to the record you came from.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This proved to be unintuitive for many people, who (reasonably) expected that <strong>save and continue<\/strong> means &#8216;<em>save my progress so I can continue editing this record<\/em>&#8216;, not &#8216;<em>save and continue on my navigational path<\/em>&#8216;. So we changed it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Selecting\u00a0save and continue (if this save type is enabled) will save your changes to the record you&#8217;re viewing and let you continue editing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Embedded event updates<\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/embedded-events\/\">Embedded events<\/a> now permit linked record pull-through, which enables data from a record to auto-populate into records created via an embedded event field. Setting this up can be a little difficult sometimes, so don&#8217;t hesitate to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fusionsport.com\/contact\/\">contact our friendly sport science service team<\/a> if you need assistance.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/embedded-events\/\">Embedded event<\/a> summary calculations now work with concatenated text and display correctly in the athlete history.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve added support for <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/embedded-events\/\">embedded events<\/a> to the Smartabase mobile app.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Multi-file upload field updates<\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve resolved an issue that caused the file count (total number of files uploaded) to be incorrect in some circumstances.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/multi-file-upload\/\">multi-file upload field<\/a> is now supported by the Smartabase mobile app.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Control the availability of forms across platforms<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This version of Smartabase includes a new form property which enables you to choose form availability more specifically. In the past, each form had an <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/smartabase-advanced-properties-for-forms\/\">advanced property<\/a> to enable mobile access, which meant forms became available for entry and viewing from the Smartabase mobile app (according to the user&#8217;s role).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5456\" src=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Availability-property-example.png\" alt=\"Screenshot showing an example of the availability property for forms\" width=\"248\" height=\"593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Availability-property-example.png 248w, https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Availability-property-example-125x300.png 125w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 248px) 100vw, 248px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">With the release of the Smartabase Athlete app, we wanted to let you choose how to build forms for more circumstances. You can now exclude forms from being available on the Smartabase Athlete app. Alternatively, you can make forms unavailable on all mobile apps or available for all platforms. Forms are always available from the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/web-browsers\/\">web browser version of Smartabase<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/smartabase-desktop-application\/\">Smartabase desktop application<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Forms which previously had mobile access enabled have been updated to use the availability property that excludes the form for the Smartabase Athlete app. These forms will only be available from the Smartabase mobile app and non-mobile versions of Smartabase. If you want athletes to use the Smartabase Athlete app, please update the availability property to the option for all platforms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Form property changes<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The\u00a0advanced form property for enabling mobile access (see below) has been removed and replaced by the form <strong>Availability<\/strong> property. This change affected the\u00a0<strong>Category Icon<\/strong> advanced form property, which allows you to choose an icon for use when displaying a list of event forms on the Smartabase mobile app. The <strong>Category Icon<\/strong> advanced form property is currently not visible and we are working to repair this issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5462\" src=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Mobile-access-property.png\" alt=\"A screenshot showing the advanced form property that enabled mobile access (now removed) and category icon\" width=\"236\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Increased security for locked records<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve made an important update to how locked records with a lock delay are handled during migrations and re-saves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">When a form is set up to be lockable and a delay is set (for example, if you want a record to be locked 15 minutes after save and lock is selected), then performing a migration or re-save on that form caused records to unlock for the delay duration (i.e. 15 minutes). This happens because the migration or re-save essentially re-sets the delay period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">From now on, performing a migration or re-save will not affect the lock status of already locked records.\u00a0 You can <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/event-pages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">learn more about migrations and re-saves in this help article<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This update also affects how the lock delay period works. It means that any edits a user makes to a record after <strong>save and lock<\/strong> is selected will not re-set the lock delay either. In a medical scenario where records are set to lock 24 hours after <strong>save and lock<\/strong> is selected, the medical practitioner has 24 hours to make edits once the <strong>save and lock<\/strong> function has been used. Once the 24 hours has elapsed, no further changes will be possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"mobile-updates\" style=\"color: #333333;\">This change does not affect forms which do not have a lock delay set.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Smartabase mobile app improvements<\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The Smartabase mobile app now supports <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.fusionsport.com\/help\/article\/customising-widget-interactions\/\">click-through from dashboards<\/a> created using the dashboard builder. This means users can select a data point within a widget to navigate from the dashboard to the exact record that the data comes from.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">As mentioned above, the Smartabase mobile app now supports multi-file upload fields and embedded events.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve resolved a problem that prevented documents from being saved properly when the record was saved before the file had finished uploading.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve fixed an issue that prevented embedded dashboards from appearing in event forms when viewed from the Smartabase mobile app.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The Smartabase mobile app has had some styling updates to improve the appearance and behaviour of the menu bar, terms and conditions screen, and verification screen.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">We&#8217;ve also updated the Smartabase mobile app so it can let you know when an update to the app is available. The app will also let you know when an update is mandatory.
