How do I update my account?

HOW TO: UPDATE YOUR SMARTABASE ACCOUNT

  1. Log in to SMARTABASE to view your home page
  2. Select the Account button in the top right-hand corner of your home page
  3. Update your details
    1. If you want to change your password, type your new password into both password fields
  4. Click the Save button
    1. When prompted, confirm your account changes using your original password (the one you signed in with). After this, you’ll use your new password. 
How do I install the SMARTABASE mobile application?

HOW TO: INSTALL SMARTABASE FOR MOBILE DEVICES

  1. Open the Apple Store or Play Store application on your mobile device
  2. Search for SMARTABASE
  3. Follow the prompts to install the SMARTABASE application
  4. Open the SMARTABASE application to view the login screen
  5. Enter your site location (for example, https://learn.smartabase.com/education)
  6. Enter your username and password
  7. Select Login Online

To reduce the amount of loading time required, the iOS and Android SMARTABASE applications have a reduced set of features. If necessary, however, most current iOS and Android devices can load the normal version of SMARTABASE using the device’s browser.

Why isn’t data from my phone showing up in the browser?

PROBLEM: “Data I entered on my phone isn’t showing up in the browser”

  1. Confirm that you have logged in online with your mobile device after entering and saving data in offline mode
    1. If so, try refreshing the browser version of SMARTABASE
    2. If not, log in online with the mobile device to synchronise any saved data on the device
How do I access a database field on my phone?

PROBLEM: “I can’t fill out this database question on my mobile device”

  1. Identify the form and question that you are trying to fill out
  2. Confirm that you are normally able to select a record from that database field using the browser version of SMARTABASE
    1. If so, communicate to your site builder that the database may not be enabled for mobile use
    2. If not, check with your site administrator whether you need data permissions for the database
How do I see a form on my phone?

PROBLEM: “I can’t fill out the form I need to on my mobile device”

  1. Identify which form you are trying to enter data into
  2. Confirm that you are normally able to fill out this form in the browser version of SMARTABASE
    1. If so, communicate to your site builder that this form may not be enabled for mobile use
    2. If not, check with your site administrator whether you should have data permissions for the form
How do I see the athletes I need to?

PROBLEM: “I can’t see the users I need to”

  1. Identify which group environment you are operating within
    1. If the group environment is correct, check that multiple athletes are visible in the sidebar
      1. If an athlete is already selected in the sidebar, change the drop-down box at the top of the sidebar to “All”
      2. If multiple athletes are already visible in the sidebar, but the athlete required is not included, confirm with your site administrator whether the athlete should be a member of this group
    2. If the group environment is not correct, follow the instructions for changing groups
      1. If the group is not visible immediately, check whether it is a subgroup of a visible group
      2. If the group is not visible at all, confirm with your site administrator whether you should have access to the group
How do I add a mobile device PIN?

Athletes are able to set up a mobile device PIN (personal identification number) for their SMARTABASE account. If you are a coach, the PIN option is not available to you. 

HOW TO: ADD A PIN

To set up a PIN for your SMARTABASE account, ensure that you have downloaded and installed the SMARTABASE application for iPhone (Apple Store) or Android (Play Store). Open the SMARTABASE mobile application and choose the Log In Online option.

  1. Tap the Account button to access your user account page

  1. In the Account page, scroll to the bottom and select Set PIN

  1. A digit selector will appear for you to set a four-digit PIN. You must type this PIN twice to confirm. If you mistype your confirmation you will be asked to type your PIN again.

  1. Once you have confirmed your PIN tap Save in the bottom corner.

  1. You must type your account password to complete setup of the PIN.

  1. The next time you log in using either online or offline mode, you can use your PIN instead.

  1. When you log in using your PIN, the login screen will display your PIN as asterisks.

Note that this PIN is specific to each device, so you cannot use a new device with the PIN until you set up a PIN on that device.

Multiple athletes are able to use the same device to log in to SMARTABASE using a PIN, but each must set a PIN using the above method.
