We hope you enjoy using version 2.39 of the dashboard builder!

Additional performance improvements when filtering data

As part of ongoing work towards improving dashboard performance, we’ve made a change to how data in widgets is updated when changing a filter. Previously, when a filter selection was changed (e.g. the user changed the selected athlete in a select box), all of the series and columns within influenced widgets would update. Now, only the specific series and columns which are influenced by the filter selection are updated. In other words, dashboards no longer perform any unnecessary filtering, thus resulting in a speed boost when changing filters.

This update has also improved the performance for building and editing dashboards. When building dashboards in the past, you may have noticed that widgets would regenerate their entire data preview when changing most widget settings. Now the previewed components will regenerate their data individually when certain settings are changed.
